Fall 2012 Schedule Changes

The Hamilton Street Railway released their Fall 2012 Bus News and the timetables for the fall. There are a number of changes in store, including those mentioned in a post last month.

Below are the changes that will take effect Sunday September 2nd, 2012.

The following routes will return to their pre-summer weekday schedules:

- '3 CANNON'
- '4 BAYFRONT'
- '6 ABERDEEN'
- '7 LOCKE'
- '8 YORK'
- '21 UPPER KENILWORTH'
- '22 UPPER OTTAWA'
- '23 UPPER GAGE'
- '24 UPPER SHERMAN'
- '27 UPPER JAMES'
- '33 SANATORIUM'
- '34 UPPER PARADISE'

The HSR has four seasonal routes/shuttles that do not run all year. Two of them will be ending in the next few months with the third resuming service in the fall.

- '9 ROCK GARDENS' -- Finishes Sunday November 11th
- '51 UNIVERSITY' -- Resumes September 4th with an additional weekday evening trip
- '99 WATERFRONT SHUTTLE' -- Finishes Monday September 3rd
- 'REEDEMER UNIVERSITY COLLEGE SHUTTLE' -- Resumes September 4th

NEW EXPANDED SERVICES
The HSR has begun to unfold their Transit Investment Plan and in September there will be improved service on the 5 Delaware, 43 Stone Church, and 44 Rymal.

'5A DELAWARE' / '5C WEST HAMILTON'
(Saturdays & Sundays)
NEW expanded service will now be provided to/from the Ancaster Meadowlands every 30 minutes from approximately 6:00am to 12:00 midnight. This will provide additional direct service from the Westdale/University area to the stores, restaurants and services at the Meadowlands.

'43 STONE CHURCH'
(Saturdays and Sundays)
NEW expanded service will now be provided every 60 minutes on Saturday evenings (approximately 7:00pm to 1:00am) and during shopping hours on Sundays (approximately 10:00am to 6:00pm).

'44 RYMAL'
(Weekdays)
NEW expanded service will be added during the midday and early evening time periods every hour. The bus will now operate between 6:00am and 9:00pm.

SCHEDULE CHANGES
'41 MOHAWK'
(Sundays & Holidays)
Minor trip adjustments on Sundays to provide better connections with the new 5A/5C West Hamilton service at the Ancaster Meadowlands

'51 UNIVERSITY'
(Weekdays)
One additional trip eastbound and westbound in the evening.

'56 CENTENNIAL'
(All Services)
Additional trips added during the day. Buses now operate every 45 minutes between 10:00am and 5:00pm.

ROUTE CHANGES
'20 A LINE'
(Weekdays)
The current rerouting at Mohawk College (Fennell campus) is now permanent. There are no schedule changes, as it will return to the pre-summer schedule.

'35 COLLEGE'
(All Services)
The current rerouting at Mohawk College (Fennell campus) is now permanent. There are no schedule changes, as it will return to the pre-summer schedule. A minor rerouting will take place in St. Elizabeth Village.

'41 MOHAWK'
(All Services)
Due to complaints from residents along Grenfell St., 41 Mohawk will be revised to travel along Beach and Dofasco Rd. to Kenilworth Ave, instead of Grenfell St. A new bus stop is added at Beach and Martimas. Bus stops at Grenfell St. and Martimas, and Grenfell St. and Kenilworth Ave. will be removed.

SPECIAL EVENTS LISTINGS:
Winona Peach Festival
August 24 to 26 at Winona Park. Shuttles will operate. For more information closer to the event, please use: www.winonapeach.com

Binbrook Fair
September 14 to 16 at Binbrook Fair grounds. A shuttle will operate on Sunday, September 16 only. For more information closer to the event, please use: www.binbrookfair.org

Supercrawl
September 14 to 15 in downtown Hamilton. James Street North will be closed between King and Barton. Please visit our website for bus detour information closer to the date. Visit their website at: www.supercrawl.ca

Ancaster Fair
September 20 to 23 at Ancaster Fairgrounds. Shuttles will operate. For more information closer to the event, please use: www.ancasterfair.ca

Open Streets Hamilton
September 23. James Street North will be closed from Guise Street to King Street. Please visit our website for bus detour information closer to the date. Visit their website at: openstreetshamilton.ca

Rockton World's Fair
October 5 to 8 in the Village of Rockton. Shuttles will operate. For more information closer to the event, please use: www.rocktonworldsfair.com
