Spring HSR Service Changes - Breakdown

The Spring 2012 Bus News has been released with some new details for upcoming service changes, as well as updated information. The details are broken down below.

Spring Service Changes
'1 King'
Additional Weekday, Saturday and Sunday/Holiday Service will be provided during most time periods. The Weekday mid-day and peak schedules were increased to every 6 minutes from Eastgate Square to downtown. Every other bus continues to/from McMaster resulting in 12 minute service on route

'1A King'
The late evening service was revised to 20 minutes on Weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays. The mid-day service on Sundays was increased to every 10 minutes. Every other bus continues to/from Fiesta Mall resulting in a 20 minute service along this section.

'5 Delaware'
As per customer requests, an earlier eastbound trip was added in the morning, departing Pirie & Governors at 5:31am on weekday morning.

'21 Upper Kenilworth' & '33 Sanatorium'
Additional weekday service will be provided during the mid-day time period. The Weekday mid-day service has been improved to provide service every 20 minutes on these two routes.

'51 University'
One additional late evening westbound trip has been added. The University route only operates up to Saturday April 28th and will resume at the beginning of September.

'55 Stoney Creek Central' & '58 Stoney Creek Local'
Minor changes were made in the late evening weeknight service for 1 King connections.

'56 Centennial' - NEW ROUTE NAME

This spring sees the renaming of '56 Confederation Park' to '56 Centennial' and expansion of service. The route will now operate seven days a week and year round. The route previously operated on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays only during the summer months. Typically the route would begin on the last weekend in June and finish on Labour Day weekend. This is the first significant routing change for the route in more than twenty years.

This route will now provide service to the newly opened Walmart on Centennial Parkway, south of the South Service Road, from approximately 10:00am until 6:00pm. Walmart will be serviced in both the northbound and southbound directions. The bus stop will be at the bus bay on the east side of the internal ring road. The gates at Confederation Park/Wild Waterworks are closed until Saturday, June 2nd and only operate on weekends at the beginning of the summer. As a result, the bus will only enter the Park when open.

Revised route timetables should be available at the Hamilton GO Centre, MacNab Transit Terminal and on board HSR buses this week. The official transit website should be updated later this week or early next week with revised timetables.
